Detailed Review of Amazon Fire TV Cube (2022)

The lineup of far more cheap Fire TV streaming devices has always made the Amazon Fire TV Cube (2022) exceptional. The Fire TV Cube has become smarter as cable has reduced its relevance since it was first advertised as “the Fire TV that can control your cable box.” This new Fire TV Cube has been improved overall by Amazon. It is not only among the greatest streaming devices but also among the fastest ones thanks to a new processor. Hard-wired Ethernet connections no longer require an adaptor dongle, and connecting to media drives and webcams is now simpler than before.

A blue light bar and four Alexa buttons ((mute, trigger, volume up, and volume down) on the upper side of the Fire TV Cube show that this Fire TV device is a full-fledged Alexa speaker, which is the main reason for some users to buy it. The Fire TV Cube 3rd Generation’s sides, on the other hand, are covered in mesh fabric rather than glossy plastic. This enables front- and side-facing Alexa speakers in addition to making them look more like an Alexa speaker. You no longer need to utilize an external Ethernet adapter with the micro USB port as Amazon incorporated an internal Ethernet port. The little USB port is replaced with a full USB-A port, which can be used for a webcam or external media storage.

The Amazon Fire TV Cube (2020) is one of the quickest streaming devices available in the market as it comes with a powerful octa-core processor. Using the Fire TV Cube (2022), you can quickly open apps, navigate menus, and start streaming. You would also find that Disney Plus opens in 5 seconds whereas Peacock opens in 6 seconds. If Roku Ultra opens in 9 seconds so Apple TV starts in 6 seconds.

The Fire TV Cube (2022) provides clear, gorgeous video, or at the very least, it makes your TV perform to its full capacity. The leading video (HDR 10, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG) and audio (Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus,) standards are all supported by the Cube. The Fire TV Cube performed flawlessly when it is tested on a 4K LG TV), although TV shows occasionally have a brief all-black transition followed by a minimalist logo to let viewers prepare for the following scene. The image clarity of this TV Cube is undoubtedly razor-sharp. Scenes on the moon looked great thanks to the Dolby Vision compatibility, with the dark skies appearing especially inky. 

The top half of the home screen’s rotating carousel banner featured advertisements for House of the Dragon, the true Crime channel Topic, The Peripheral (a Prime Video Original), an advertisement for Amazon’s hub for all things Halloween, a Stephen Merchant-hosted program on Britbox (accessible via Prime Channels), and a promotion for Sharon Osbourne’s Fox Nation special. Six of your apps are displayed in a narrow row below that over which users have partial control. A clean, slightly smart row (or two) of content relevant to the item your cursor has picked appears below that. Scrolling down on the home screen, you would see a grab bag that includes recently used apps, rows of ads, Amazon content, suggested content, sponsored content, Prime Video channels, live TV, a sponsored row of free movies from Tubi, and so on.

Amazon’s new Fire TV Cube is available with remote control. A multitasking button that displays recently used apps have been added to this remote by Amazon, along with a button for system settings. Its remote gets content navigation and a menu with all the regular buttons to allow you to play/pause, a directional pad, rewind, fast forward, go back and go home by one screen. The Live TV menu button is also present, along with volume and channel controls. The mute button is the only concave button, making it simple to locate without looking—this is a nice small addition. 

The Amazon Fire TV Cube is still one of the most powerful media streamers available in the market thanks to its HDMI pass-through and Wi-Fi 6E and hands-free Alexa voice control. So buy it and get the experience!
